The Retreat at Crystal Creek Retreat, a large short-term rental property, approached me with the challenge of attracting additional sources of business. We identified a promising opportunity in marketing the property to business retreats, specifically targeting small-stage startups. This strategic pivot aimed to leverage the retreat’s unique features and appeal to a new and lucrative market segment.
To kick off our strategy, I optimized the LinkedIn profiles of the founders to better resonate with their target audience. I then implemented a LinkedIn bot to build connections with seed stage or Series A companies in startup hubs such as Austin, New York, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco. This approach ensured that the retreat’s message reached the right people, increasing the chances of booking business retreats. Then, I developed a content plan for continued engagement with these new connections.
I developed a comprehensive content strategy to maintain engagement with these new connections. This included a year’s worth of keyword-based content ideas tailored for the founders to post on LinkedIn, aimed at establishing thought leadership and relevance in the business retreat space. I personally wrote the first several blog posts to set the tone and standard for the ongoing content.
The strategic focus on business retreats led to a significant influx of small businesses utilizing the Crystal Creek Retreat. The targeted LinkedIn outreach and consistent, relevant content helped position the retreat as an ideal location for startup retreats, driving increased bookings and business growth. This successful campaign demonstrated the power of a well-executed content strategy in transforming and expanding a business’s market reach.
